Q) What happens when the brake and turn signal are turned on at the same time?
A) Initial effect would look like the hazards were turned on but the brake light
side would stay on and the turn signal side would blink the selected pattern (Sequential
Q) Does Meter4it Eng. sell kits other than the 96 to 09 Mustangs?
A) Not at this time!.
Questions from Feedback and emails!
Q) What happens to the taillights when the brake is pressed?
A) The taillights will perform the selected pattern.
A) The speed is based off the flashers speed when calibrated to the left/ right turn
signal (recommended in instructions). Another option (if you wanted it to be faster)
would be to calibrate it using the brake. If you push the calibrate button and then
push the brake peddle "twice" at a rate equal to or faster than the flasher you can
make it sequence or chase faster depending on what pattern you have selected.
Q) Have you tried your kit on an '05 yet? 2/9/05
A) Yes, on an 05 Saleen. I have not put together installation documentation yet.
Basically it's the same as the earlier Mustang with some changes. Will not have to
replace the electronic flasher and must run a 12V dc wire to the battery at this
point until I find another access point. Kit should be availably around the end of
February. NOTE: I may include the flasher so the speed will be slower. You can see
in the video below! I think it's kind of cool but personally I like it a little slower.
Q) Hi, I'm interested in your item but wanted to know exactly how much wire cutting
is involved? I baby my car too much and would hate to have to gut out the harnesses.
Thanks for your time.
A) Hello svt50cobra95, I totally understand! In short you only have to cut two wires,
this allows control over that light (one each side). You will have to install two
connectors that are included in the kit into two light sockets (one on each side)
enabling the second filament on the inboard light (closes to the license plate).
Now four more connections that basically tap into the factory wires, two for the
turn signal (one on each side), one for the ground, and one for the 12Vdc supply.
The last thing is to replace your factory electronic flasher, basically unplug the
original and plug in the new one. Thanks for your question, Gary Murphy Meter4it
Q) I already have a sequential kit from webelectric, would it be hard to convert
to this kit?
A) Hello munchie706, No it would not be that hard. You would have to make the same
connections to the lights as with his kit (Tap into the Green and orange wires, install
my light socket terminals, and connect to the outside lights). Only thing different
with mine is a power wire that connects to the trunk light and a ground wire that
connects to the driver side taillight harness. Thanks for asking, Gary Murphy Meter4it
Q) Can the speed of the chase sequence be adjusted to slow it down further?
A) Hello paulbarton, The speed is based off the flashers speed when calibrated to
the left/ right turn signal. Other option (if you want it to be faster) would be
to calibrate it using the brake. If you push the calibrate button and then push the
brake peddle "twice" at a rate equal to or faster than the flasher you can make it
sequence or chase faster depending on what pattern you have selected. Thanks for
your question, Gary Murphy Meter4it Eng.
Q) I live in the Wylie, TX / Beaumont, TX area and you don't sell a kit for my car/
truck. Could you modify your kit to work on my car/ truck?
A) Providing your car meets the requirements and I have the time then yes. My starting
price is $50 plus extra parts that does not come in the kit. Example would be light
socket. I'm not looking to make money on installs but my time is worth money and
some custom installs take time.
Q) Can you install the LED's in my trucks tunnel cover?
A) Sorry this is something I have done for my Brother and nephew. This is very very
time consuming making the PC boards, installing the components, and not to mention
if I scratched your paint well, I don't know How to paint
Q) Can the speed of the chase sequence be adjusted to slow it down?
A) Yes, please look at my Project link to see what I have done.
Q) Why is it an option to buy the "modified electronic flasher" for the 96 to 04
A) On newer Ford's if one or more light bulbs burn out the flasher flashes twice
the normal speed to let the driver know a bulb is not working. I buy new Motorcraft
flashers and disable this feature so when the sequence starts (one light on at this
point) it will be able to complete the selected pattern with out triggering the warp
speed turn signal. On the other hand if you are electronic savvy you can save money
and modify your own with supplied components.
Q) I know it will work on my car/ truck, what kit should I buy, Mustang or Shelby
so I can have the Chaseoption?
A) OK, my 96 to 04 Mustang unit was put together with other cars in mind. The wiring
harness is long with wires that exit at different points of the harness were most
lights are located. You will need to provide 12 volts and may have to upgrade to
and electronic flasher. If you have an older car/ truck that uses the two prong flasher
then buy my 1968 Shelby flasher. Please let me know what your intentions are so I
will give you a basic wiring schematicto help you and not the Mustang one.
Q) Will your kit work with LED taillights?
Q) Can your unit just turn all lights on and off for the brake instead of performing
the selected pattern?
A) Not at this time, Although I have tried to incorporate many features in this unit
the feedback I received never mentioned this. In the future I will incorporate this
Q) Can I install your kit on my vehicle?
A) If the requirements are met yes.
Need three lights per taillight or able to modify to have three lights.
Both brake and turn signal must use the same wire.
Your flasher must flash the same speed as with one light on or three lights on. EXAMPLE:
Newer Fords flasher will flash twice the normal speed if one light is burned out.
This let's the driver know one or more lights are not working.
